                <text>U.S. Post Office, Yazoo City, Miss. -1, No. 20670. This buyilding was the thrid Post Office building in Yazoo CIyt. It was built in 1910 at the corner of Main Street and Broadway as the result of Senator John Sharpe Williams efforts. Yazoo City had a major fire in 1904 which destroyed the Post ofice building on South Main and most of the downtown area. The Post Office was moved to a location on Mound St from 1904 until 1910. The building was demolished in the early 1960s to make way for the new Delta National Bank. $20,000 was designated for the cost in 1908.</text>

A new building was built for the library in 1985. The mural was placed in the new post office. This building was demolished to make way for construction of the new current Public Library. Opposite the post office is a statute of Judge Hardy, one of the outstanding pioneer citizens of south Mississippi, who started the Gulf and Ship Island Railroad which was later taken over by Captain T. J. Jones and built from Gulfport to Jackson. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.</text>

                <text>U. S. Post Office, Gulfport Mississippi. No. 114, is a historic post office and customhouse that was completed in 1910, with James Knox Taylor as Supervising Architect. The cost of construction forty thousand dollars. In 1963 a one story extension to the rear was added. It is one of the examples of Second Renaissance Revival architecture in Mississippi. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.</text>
