This brick building was a Colonial Revival design typical of post office construction of the early 1900s. The building's design was prepared under the supervision of government architect James Knox Taylor and was one of many such post offices constructed utilizing this Colonial Revival form and detailing It featured a hipped roof, arched windows and classical detailing around the doors, windows and eaves such as dentils and modillion blocks, By the mid 20th century the building was enlarged with brick additions but it retains its original form and design.
