Post Office, Mobile, Ala. No. 224. Built between 1853-1856. Located at the SW corner of Royal & St. Francis Streets, the 3d floor courtroom had a skylight. The US Circuit Court for the Southern District of Alabama met here until that court was abolished in 1912.

United States Court House and Custom House, United States Post Office at the left, Mobile Ala, No. 7AH2625. These two federal structures occupy the entire frontage on St. Joseph Street from St. Michael to St. Louis Street, housing all Federal agencies in the City of Mobile. Designed by Carey and Dowling, Mobile architects. An extension, designed by Louis Simon, added in 1940.
