Description

9 - Post Office and Custom House, Tampa, Fla. No. 16004. Federal Building, Tampa, Florida. In this building are located all of the Federal Government Agencies embracing this territory. This is said to be one of the finest buildings in the south. The U. S. District Court shared the third floor with the U. S. Weather Service. The post office moved to the basement in 1968. The Public Health Service moved into its first floor space. By 1984 the court, its clerk, and the marshal service were the only tenants. After the court left, and after a $27 million renovation, in 2014 the building became the Le Meriden Hotel.
