Description

Post Office, Thomasville, GA. Court House to the right. No. NT-1. No. E-6483. The Court house on the right is the Thomas County Courthouse, an historic government building, built in 1858 and located on North Broad Street. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on June 22, 1970. Thomasville, situated on a ridge 273 feet above sea level, in southwest Georgia is only 50 miles from the Gulf Of Mexico. This city enjoys the distinction of being an original winter and health resort, as in the early 1880s many people started coming here for recreation and health. The City of Roses slogan is given Thomasville due to many streets being bordered with roses, and roses are in bloom almost every month in the year.
