Description

Greensboro, N. C. U. S. Court House and Post Office, No. 5171. Occupied March 1, 1887, the cost of construction being $852,688.23. It is constructed of brick, and contains a cubic space of 288,659 feet. In 1904 it was enlarged, a third story being added, and the floor space doubled. It stands on the southeast corner of the Public Square at the intersection of Market and Elm Streets and is one of the city's handsomest edifices.
