Description

United States Post Office and St. Michael's Church at night. Charleston, S.C. No. 199.-9. The new post office was completed and occupied in 1896. St. Michael's Episcopal Church was built between 1751 and 1761 by Samuel Cardy by order of the South Carolina Assembly. It is the oldest surviving religious structure in Charleston. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
