U.S. Post Office and Government Building, Spartanburg, S.C. No. S-21. No. 1A2794. C.T. American Art Colored. This post office and federal building was built in 1931 at a cost of $300,000. Its construction was the result of the Public Building Act of 1926. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on Jan. 31, 2017. Postmarked May 22, 1939 with a one cent stamp. Message on back: Drexel, N.C. 5/20/39. Dear sister Gladys and Sister Gene - just a line to let you know that I surely thank you for the nice Mothers Day card you sent me. We are anxious to see all of our dear congregation at Roanoke. Lord willing we will be home for paryer meeting next Wed. night, hope the church will all be out to prayer meeting.
