Post Office, Chattanooga, Tenn. No. 64. No. 7803. Natural color post card by E.C. Kropp Co., Milwaukee, Wis. Chattanooga's Post Office and Courthouse was built as part of an expanded federal construction prgram, undertaken in the 1930s under the direction of Supervising Architect Louis A. Simon. This new million dollar Post Office, an imposing edifice contrally located, is an example of modern architecure, built with Gerogia marble with aluminum trimmings and fixtures throughout. The interior is of Tennessee marble in traditional detail with eagles, shields and flags forming attractive decorations.
