Description

United States Post Office, Columbia, Tenn. No. A-5888. C.T. American Art Colored. This post office building was constructed between 1907-1908. The building is located at 308 West 7th Street. In 1940 when another post office was built, the old post office was given to the community as a memorial to veterans for use as a hall. Since that time the Memorial Building has at various times been used as a public library, the Chamber of Commerce, the Maury County Historical Society, various other community organizations and it is still used as the Veteran's Service Office.
