Description

O-204 U.S. Post Office, Orlando, Florida. The City Beautiful, and Federal Court House.No 74278, Almost in the geographical center of the state, Orlando is a fast-growig resort and distributing community. It is here that most of Florida's citrus fruit banking is conducted. In fifteen years the city has tripled in population until it is now a city of 35,000 year round inhabitants. During the winter months it is host to an additonal 35,000 persons from other states. Orlando is known as the City Beautiful for its 33 lakes and parks. The Southern District of Florida met here until the Middle District was created in 1962 which met here until 1974. The building was modified in teh mid-2000s to accommodate the post office and office and retail space. The Roman Catholic Diocese of Orlando purchased the remaining unoccupied space in 2001 for a new Chancery center.
